This week and later half last week, NVIDIA stock price W2W (Week to Week) change is about 15% both ways (down and up). This is my 10th NVIDIA option trading week. I made about 2.5% return for the month, which I am not too happy about. I closed out my puts positions too earlier this week because of my fears of stock market significant dips.
The following is my analysis of NVIDIA stock price action for the last 8 weeks.
Friday | Friday | Friday | Friday | Friday | Friday | Friday | Friday
3/8/2024 | 3/15/2024 | 3/22/2023 | 3/28/2024 | 4/5/2024 | 4/12/2024 | 4/19/2024 | 4/26/2024
Weekly Volatility | 6% | 5% | 4% | 4% | 3% | 4% | 6% | 5% |
Bi-Weekly Volatility | n/a | 5% | n/a | 4% | n/a | 4% | n/a | 6% |
Weekly Price Change | 2% | 0% | 7% | -4% | -3% | 0% | -14% | 15% |
Bi-Weekly Price Change | n/a | 2% | n/a | 3% | n/a | -2% | n/a | -1% |
As you can see, the weekly W2W price change was -14% and 15% for the last two week and volatility was about 6% for the last two week which reflects the earning weeks stock market volatility.
My option trading strategy for month of May will be patiently waiting for the right opportunities and try out roll the options instead of closing them out earlier than the expiration dates, at least I will try.
